14 October 2026 | 16:00–18:00 | Room B10, Faculty of Philology, University of Santiago de Compostela
The Lexicography on the Road VI lecture and workshop series continues on 14 October 2026 with a lecture by Ángel Huete García, entitled “Building the Lighthouse: RAG Chatbots and the Future of Lexicography”.
The lecture will explore the potential of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) chatbots for lexicography, addressing the opportunities that emerging artificial intelligence technologies offer for the development and use of lexical resources. The session will provide an opportunity to reflect on the evolving relationship between lexicographic data, language technologies and user needs.
The event forms part of Lexicography on the Road VI, a programme of lectures and workshops organised within the framework of the Erasmus Mundus Master in Lexicography (EMLex) and the Humboldt Research Group at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), with activities scheduled from September to November 2026.
In addition to the lecture, Ángel Huete will lead a series of three workshops from 14 to 16 October, focusing on user-centred lexicographic data and its transformation into effective lexicographic tools.
The lecture is open to the public.
